U.S.A. challenge

During 2007, a challenge was issued by the members of the Roslyn Rifle & Revolver Club of New York. Following their annual Small-bore Mini Palma Tournament, their scores would be rated against St. Nicholas Rifle & Pistol Club, shooting the same course of fire at our Foxbury Range, in an International Friendly Postal Match.

2007

The scaled down Palma course of fire consists of a round of 10 shots at 800yds, 10 shots at 900yds and 10 shots at 1000yds shot using targets scaled down to 100yds, all using iron-sights, shot three times.

  • Best shooter - John Millar shooting 881 ex 900 with 41x.

  • Best aggregate shooter 1st round - John Millar 292 ex 300 with 14x

  • Best aggregate shooter 2nd round - John Millar 295 ex 300 with 13x

  • Best aggregate shooter 3rd round - Michael Dowe 297 ex 300 with 9x

  • Round 1 team score - 2778 ex 3000 with 66x

  • Round 2 team score - 2809 ex 3000 with 74x

  • Round 3 team score - 2863 ex 3000 with 90x

  • St. Nicholas overall team score - 8450 ex 9000 with 230x
     

  • Best aggregate shooter 1st round - Jim Co. 288 ex 300 with 16x

  • Best aggregate shooter 2nd round - Pete O. 295 ex 300 with 17x

  • Best aggregate shooter 3rd round - Pete O. 287 ex 300 with 9x

  • Roslyn overall team score - 8321 ex 9000 with 234x
